My repects to the soldiers and their families. Now that you've done that so well perhaps you might list all the dead lebanese, who they are and where they came from. Oh, maybe that might not be a good idea. I hate when I scroll down a list for over an hour and still dont get to the bottem.
Mr X,
War has its costs. It is not pretty.
These soldiers died fighting for something very worthwhile: A real country, Israel, whose highest ideals of democracy work to create an equality of opportunity and protection under the law for all.
The soldiers' names, their personal and their military information are made public through a free press.
We have no way of knowing who is who in Lebanon. The Hezbollah fights and hides among civilians. The civilians take casualties even though they have been warned to move out. Then the Hezbollah uses coersion to force the media to tell the story a "certain way".( Arafat did that for 30 years.)
The Hezbollah is fighting to create an Islamic theocracy which will eliminate all freedoms including the free press and to oppress all religious minorities.
Ruled by the Shia it would relegate all other denominations to the whim of a current ruling elite.
As a reminder to those who don't remember: all of the kindly, well educated liberal, Western educated, Iranians who helped the Ayatollah KHomeni return from Paris and come to power in Iran in the the late 1970's were eventually lined up against a wall and shot by that very same Ayatollah Khomeni.
You see, supporters began to slowly disagree with the Ayatollah's policies. They began to demand freedoms. Ultimately they understood that they had replaced a fairly progressive government with a real outright religious fascist.
Mr. X, you would be better served demanding less perfection from Israel and paying more attention to what you are fighting for and supporting.
Under the Hezbollah, your blogging days would be over unless you convert and submit to Islam and give up any and all public criticism of the Hezbollah government.
